On February 1st this year, the project “Exchange of Clusters using Digital Transformation for Excellence – EXCITE” officially began, with the Business Hive Vilnius cluster participating as the Lithuanian partner.
The project is coordinated by Germany’s “Silicon Saxony” cluster, and BHV’s team will be represented by Minvydas Latauskas, cluster and projects manager. The project runs for 24 months, until 31 January 2024.
What is EXCITE?
EXCITE’s main goal is to strengthen cluster management and enable strategic partnership between cluster staff and members using the ClusterXchange system. ClusterXchange is a new pilot European Commission project promoting short-term exchanges between clusters to better connect industrial ecosystems across Europe.
The project focuses on skills, processes and services related to digital transformation — both within the cluster organization and its member companies — to help them successfully engage with global markets.
Six partners — six countries
The EXCITE consortium consists of six clusters from different European regions:
- Silicon Saxony (Germany) — project coordinator
- Cluster for Digital Transformation and Innovations (Bulgaria)
- Business Hive Vilnius Cluster (Lithuania)
- GAIA — Knowledge and Applied Technologies Association (Spain, Basque Country)
- Mazovia Cluster ICT (Poland)
- Pôle SCS (France)
What will this bring BHV members?
For our cluster’s companies and startups, EXCITE opens up a real opportunity to take part in international business delegations to other European cluster regions, meet potential partners and clients in advanced industrial ecosystems, receive financial support for travel costs, and share experience with cluster leaders from Germany, Spain, France, Poland and Bulgaria.
For Lithuania’s industry and ICT sector this matters especially: the chance to find new export routes, partnerships or even investment through the advanced Silicon Saxony (Germany) or GAIA (Basque Country) networks.
We’ll share updates on the project’s next phases and planned exchanges soon.
